Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignment (STA) – the teaching staff member visits partner university for teaching purposes, the visit lasts 5 days (8 hours of lectures in total) plus 2 days for the travel.

Staff Mobility for Training (STT) – the staff member visits partner university in for training purposes (eg. job shadowing, workshops, international staff meetings), the visit lasts 5 days plus 2 days for the travel. We reccommend this type of mobility for administrative staff involved in international issues at their home university.

Formal procedures of applying for a staff mobility for teaching assignment and for training at the University of Szczecin (Learning mobility for higher education staff between EU Member States and third countries not associated to the Programme. Project 2025-1-PL01-KA171-HED-000324521 (1.08.2025– 31.07.2028)

The partner HEIs eligible for the mobilities are listed in the appendix to financial agreement no. 2025-1-PL01-KA171-HED-000324521.
The academic and non-academic staff members of the partner HEIs are eligible for staff mobility for teaching assignment (STA) and for training (STT) on a basis of the signed Inter-institutional agreements.
The interinstitutional agreement should be signed before the individual mobility starts and should include an ISCED code relevant to the study/research area specific to the applicant.
The duration of STA and STT mobility lasts 5 days.
Staff mobility for teaching assignment and for training can be carried out between 01 January 2026 and 04 July 2028.
The selection process takes place at the partner HEI according to their internal rules and Erasmus + Programme Guide.
The Partner HEI informs International Relations Department Office of the University of Szczecin about the nominated applicants no later than 4 weeks before the mobility starts.
The selected staff member applies for a scholarship at the University of Szczecin via indicated application system.
The scholarships are awarded until all the funds are exhausted according to the following country limits:

Bosnia and Herzegovina: 1 STA;
Cambodia: 2 STA;
Canada: 1 STA;
China: 1 STA;
Georgia: 1 STA;

The limits mentioned above may be increased upon a decision of the Vice Rector in charge of international cooperation if the budget of the project allows.
The type of the mobility may be changed upon a decision of the Vice Rector in charge of international cooperation.
The faculty exchange coordinators approve the candidates on a basis of their Staff Mobility for Teaching/Training Mobility Agreement and assess following criteria:
– overall objectives of the mobility;
– content of the teaching/training programme;
– expected outcomes and impact;
– added value of the mobility.
The applicant is informed about the approval immediately via on-line application system.
A scholarship for the staff mobility for teaching or training (‘Individual support’) is 148 Euro per day. 2 travel days are added to the duration of the mobility period and included in the calculation of the individual support.

The applicant receives a travel support to cover travel expenses calculated upon a distance using a calculator provided by the European Commission

Sustainable means of transport (‘green travel’) is defined as the travel that uses low-emissions means of transport for the main part of the travel, such as bus, train or car-pooling. Staff members who opt for a green travel will receive up to 4 days of additional individual support to cover travel days for a return trip, if relevant.
The financial rules of ‘green travel’ are regulated separately.
The obligation to complete the procedures of obtaining a visa and insurance lies with the participant, however, International Relations Department of the University of Szczecin provides documents (eg. invitation) necessary for the visa procedure.
A person selected for the STA or STT mobility becomes a beneficiary of the Erasmus+ program at the moment of signing the grant agreement, which is the basis for payment of the scholarship. The scholarship agreement should be signed by the staff member 2 weeks prior to scheduled departure.
After the end of the mobility, employee receives a Certificate of attendance confirmed by the respective unit of the University of Szczecin.

Green travel
Settlement rules of the ‘green travel’ financing for inbound stafff mobilities at the University of Szczecin. Erasmus+ Action 171. Learning mobility for higher education staff between EU Member States and third countries not associated to the Programme.
1. Buses, train, bicycle, and carpooling (a shared travel by car, belonging to one of the passengers, on the same route and with the same goal) are considered by the Erasmus+ programme to be ecological means of transportation. Travel by any other means of transportation does not meet those criteria.
2. Candidates may apply for a top-up for travel costs resulting from using low-emissions means of transportation (so-called „green travel”) if more than a half of the itinerary of the return route is made with such means. Candidates are required to declare such travel while applying for a mobility.
3. Participants of KA171 mobilities have always 2 travel days added to the duration of their mobility period and included in the calculation of the individual suport independently from the means of transportation.
4. Additionally, the candidate may apply for maximum of 4 additional travel days (return route). Appendix 1 should be filed while applying for a mobility.
5. A number of granted additional travel days depends on the distance between the seat of the University of Szczecin and the seat of the sending HEI according to the on-line calculator available at the website of the European Commission (EC): http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm:
a) 100 – 1999 km – 1 travel day / 1 way
b) 2000 km or more – 2 travel days / 1 way
6. The ‘green travel’ is confirmed by the participant upon arrival to the University of Szczecin by submitting a green travel statement to International Relations Department (Appendix 2) and proof of travel listed in the statement.
7. If the trip is not confirmed in the above-mentioned manner, the participant will be called to return the amount resulting from the green travel entitlements.
