Rules of central linguistic verification
Central linguistic verification applies to students and doctoral students going on exchange under the Erasmus+ KA131 programme.

Short-term mobility
- Language verification is conducted by the International Relations Department (IRD). The verification concerns 5 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Persons who want to carry out their mobility in a language other than the ones listed above are obliged to deliver to the IRD one of the documents specified in par. 4 of the Rules.
- The placement test will include single-choice tasks within the following components: reading, grammar, listening. The expected time to solve the test will be approx. 1.5 hours.
- Missing the language placement test means withdrawal from Erasmus+ mobility.
- Exempted from the language placement test are persons:
- who have a language certificate (list of certificates in the attachment), proving language proficiency at least at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) – a scan of the certificate has to be attached into the DreamApply system (DA),
- who have a diploma in philology/linguistics related to a foreign language that is to be verified – a scan of the diploma has to be attached into the DA,
- who passed the placement test during the previous qualification – provided that the IRD has been informed of that and the result has been verified,
- who have achieved at least level B1 in the OLS (Online Linguistic/Language Support) test – a scan of the OLS result has to be attached into the DA,
- students attending first-cycle philological studies (Bachelor’s degree) – a scan of a statement confirmed by their home faculty that the student achieved at least level B1 in the exam on practical knowledge of a given language or passed courses covering practical knowledge of a given language on at least level B1 (template of the statement – to be downloaded).
- Testing is carried out remotely/online.
- Persons qualified by their faculty, whose language of mobility is one of the languages subject to verification and who do not meet the conditions listed in par. 4, shall be informed by the contact person in the IRD to take the test within 7 working days of being qualified by the coordinator.
- Students who did not achieve at least level B1 in the basic version of the placement test have the right to retake the test at dates specified individually by the IRD. The retake version of the test will consist of 100% new tasks compared to the basic version.
- Persons who took the placement test shall receive the information about the test result from the contact person in the IRD within 7 calendar days of completing the test.

Long-term mobility in 2026/2027
Rules of central linguistic verification for persons who have been successfully qualified by faculties/Doctoral School (DS) in qualification for studies (SMS) or traineeship (SMT) in the academic year 2026/2027 in Erasmus+ 2021-2027, Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility: Programme Countries
- Language verification is conducted by the International Relations Department (IRD) and concerns 5 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. If the studies (SMS) and/or traineeship (SMT) are carried out in a language other the listed above, the conditions for exemptions from the placement test must be fulfilled.
- The placement test will include single-choice tasks within the following components: reading, grammar, listening. The expected time to solve the test will be approx. 1. 5 hours.
- Missing the language placement test means withdrawal from Erasmus+ mobility.
- Exempted from the language placement test are students:

- Testing is carried out remotely/online.
- The tests are conducted in 5 language verification rounds, according to the attached calendar.
- Students who did not achieve at least level B1 in the basic version of the placement test have the right to retake the test in dates specified in art. 6, in accordance with the qualification they took part in.
- Persons who wish to improve their score from previous qualifications (e.g. due to the higher requirements of the host university) are entitled to do so, provided they report to the IRD before the start of the selected qualification round.

- Language verification is conducted by the International Relations Department (IRD) and concerns 5 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. If the studies (SMS) and/or traineeship (SMT) are carried out in a language other the listed above, the conditions for exemptions from the placement test must be fulfilled.

Rules of central linguistic verification for persons who have been successfully qualified by faculties/Doctoral School (DS) in the basic and additional qualification for studies (SMS) and/or traineeship (SMT) in the academic year 2022/2023 in Erasmus+ 2021-2027, Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility: Programme Countries
- Language verification is conducted by the International Relations Department (IRD) in cooperation with the Academic Language Centre (ALC) as the unit responsible for the preparing and verification of placement tests. The verification concerns 5 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. If the studies (SMS) and/or traineeship (SMT) are carried out in another language, the conditions for exemptions from the placement test must be fulfilled.
- The placement test will include single-choice tasks within the following components: reading, grammar, listening. The expected time to solve the test will be approx. 1. 5 hours.
- Missing the language placement test means withdrawal from Erasmus+ mobility.
- Exempted from the language placement test are students:

- The tests are conducted in three language verification rounds. The verification round is defined by specific dates in which a particular version of the test (basic and/or retake) is available to complete by participants (after these dates the possibility of completing the test is blocked). Detailed schedule for conducting placement tests in a given version (basic/retake) is as follows:
- 1st verification round, test in basic version for the basic qualification – 28.03.-03.04.2022,
- 2nd verification round, test in basic version for the additional qualification and retake test version for retakes of the basic qualification – 13.06.-19.06.2022,
- 3rd verification round, retake test version for retakes of the additional qualification – 05-11.09.2022.
- Students who took part in the basic qualification and did not achieve at least level B1 in the placement test have the right to retake the test during the 2nd language verification round. The retake test version will consist of 100% new tasks referring to the basic version.
- Students who took part in the additional qualification and did not achieve at least level B1 in the placement test have the right to retake the test during the 3rd language verification round. The retake test version will consist of 100% new tasks referring to the basic version.
- Until 25 March 2022 persons qualified by the faculties/DS in the basic qualification receive from the IRD guidelines for taking the test in the 1st verification round. Guidelines are related to logging into the system/questionnaire and technical requirements regarding the method of completing the test with the information regarding the conditions for exemption from taking the test.
- Until 15 April 2022 persons who took the placement test within the 1st language verification round receive information about the test result via the DA.
- Until 10 June 2022 persons qualified by the faculties/DS in the additional qualification and persons from the basic qualification who did not obtain a positive test result receive from the IRD guidelines for taking the test in the 2nd verification round. Guidelines are related to logging into the system/questionnaire and technical requirements regarding the method of completing the test and about the conditions exemption from taking the test.
- Until 30 June 2022 persons who took the placement test within the 2nd language verification round receive information about the test result via the DA.
- Until 02 September 2022 persons qualified by the faculties/DS in the additional qualification who did not obtain a positive test result receive from the IRD guidelines for taking the test in the 3rd verification round. Guidelines are related to logging into the system/questionnaire and technical requirements regarding the method of completing the test and the conditions for exemption from taking the test.
- Until 23 September 2022 persons who took the placement test within the 3rd language verification round receive information about the test result via the DA.

Rules of central linguistic verification for students/Phd candidates who have been successfully qualified by faculties/doctoral shool in the basic and additional qualification for studies (SMS) and/or placement (SMP) in the academic year 2021/2022 in Erasmus+ 2021-2027, Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility: Programme Countries
1. Language verification is conducted by the International Office (IO) in cooperation with the Academic Language Centre as the unit responsible for the preparing and verification of placement tests. The verification concerns 5 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. If the studies (SMS) and/or practice (SMP) are carried out in another language, the conditions for exemptions from the placement test must be fulfilled.
2. The placement test will include single-choice tasks within the following components: reading, grammar, listening. The expected time to solve the test will be approx. 1. 5 hours.
3. Missing the language placement test means withdrawal from Erasmus+ mobility.
4. Exempted from the language placement test are students:
- who have a language certificate (list of certificates in the attachment below), proving language proficiency at least at the level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – a scan of the certificate has to be attached into DreamApply account,
- who have a diploma in philology/linguistics related to a foreign language that the student has been qualified with – a scan of the diploma has to be attached into DreamApply account,
- who passed the placement test during the previous qualification(s) – a scan of the statement has to be attached into the DreamApply system and the result has to be confirmed by IO (template of the statement– to be downloaded below)
- who have already completed Erasmus+ mobility and obtained at least level B1 in the OLS (Online Linguistic Support) test – a scan of the OLS result has to be attached into DreamApply account
- students of philological studies/ studies related to a foreign language on Bachelor level (undergraduate degree) – a scan of a statement confirmed by their home faculty that the student obtained at least level B1 in the exam on practical knowledge of a given language or passed courses covering practical knowledge of a given language at least on level B1 (template of the statement).
4. Przeprowadzenie testów przez ACKJ odbywa się w formie zdalnej/on-line.
5. Testing by Academic Language Centre is carried out remotely/online.
6. The tests are conducted in three language verification rounds. The verification round is conducted in a given schedule which refers to particular version of the test (basic and/or resit) and which specifies when the tests are available for participants to complete (after this date the possibility of completing the test is blocked). Detailed schedule for conducting placement tests in a given version (basic/resit) is as follows:
- 1st language verification round, test in basic version for students who took part in the first qualification – 29.03.2021-02.04.2021
- 2nd language verification round, test in basic version for students who took part in the 2nd qualification and resit test version for students who took part in the 1st qualification and failed during the 1st language verification round – 14.06.2021-20.06.2021
- 3rd language verification round, resit test version for students who took part in the 2nd qualification and failed during the 2nd language verification round – 06.09.2021-12.06.2021.
7. Students who took part in the 1st qualification and did not achieve at least level B1 in the placement test have the right to retake the test during the 2nd language verification round. The resit test version will consist of 100% new tasks referring to the basic version.
8. Students who took part in the second qualification and did not achieve at least level B1 in the placement test have the right to retake the test during the 3rd language verification round. The resit test version will consist of 100% new tasks referring to the basic version.
9. Until March 26, students/Phd candidates qualified by the commission at the faculties/doctoral school for SMS/SMP mobility in the first qualification receives guidelines for taking the test in the 1st verification round. Guidelines are related to logging in to the system/language questionnaire and technical requirements regarding the method of completing the test with the information regarding the conditions for exemption from taking the test. The information is provided by the contact persons for mobility for studies (SMS)/internship (SMP) in the International Office via the DreamApply system directed to the e-mail addresses indicated by students during the faculty qualification.
10. Until April 13, 2021 students/Phd candidates who took the placement test within the 1st language verification round receive information about the test result via the DreamApply system.
11. Until June 11, 2021 students/Phd candidates qualified by the commission at the faculties/doctoral school for SMS/SMP mobility in the 2nd qualification and students from the 1st qualification who did not obtain a positive test result receives guidelines for taking the test in the 2nd verification round. Guidelines are related to logging into the system/language questionnaire and technical requirements regarding the method of completing the test and about the conditions exemption from taking the test. The information is provided by the contact persons for mobility for studies (SMS)/internship (SMP) in the International Office via the DreamApply system directed to the e-mail addresses indicated by students during the faculty qualification.
12. Until July 30, 2021 students/Phd candidates who took the placement test within the 2nd language verification round receive information about the test result via the DreamApply system.
13. Until September 3, 2021 persons qualified by SMS/SMP by the commission at the faculties/doctoral school in the additional/2nd qualification who did not obtain a positive test result receive guidelines for taking the test in the 3rd verification round. Guidelines are related to logging into the system/language questionnaire and technical requirements regarding the method of completing the test and the conditions for exemption from taking the test. The information is provided by the contact persons for mobility for study(SMS)/internship (SMP) in the International Office via the DreamApply system directed to the e-mail addresses indicated by students during the faculty qualification.
14. Until September 18, 2021 students/Phd candidates who took the placement test within the 3rd language verification round receive information about the test result via the DreamApply system.
