Grading system at the University of Szczecin
Grading System at the University of Szczecin
At the end of each 15-week semester, students are required to obtain a semester credit and pass all exams required by the programme. Students who fail all exams required for a given semester may retake the exams they failed; this means that each student may take each exam twice. Students have the right not to take the exam on the first scheduled date, but in such a case, they lose the opportunity to retake the exam if they fail.
The University uses the following grading scale:
| Polish grade | Description | ECTS grade | |
| 5 | VERY GOOD | outstanding performance with only minor mistakes | A |
| 4+ (4,5) | BETTER THAN GOOD | above the average standard but with some errors | B |
| 4 | GOOD | generally sound work with a number of notable errors | C |
| 3+ (3,5) | SATISFACTORY | fair but with significant shortcomings | D |
| 3 | SUFFICIENT | performance meets the minimum criteria | E |
| 2 | FAILED | performance does not meet the minumum criteria | F, FX |
